ROTHBURY & COQUETDALE BUSINESS CLUB

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE -The Club exists to:

Provide a forum where members can discuss subjects of common interest to the local business community, thereby enabling the club to represent and respond on behalf of members to matters of interest that may arise or in response to decisions taken by outside bodies which impact the business interest of the area.

Provide a forum in which members can develop a greater awareness of the services which other members supply and, thereby encourage a greater level of mutual business activity

Provide support for individual members where possible.

Generally work to promote a greater awareness of the needs of Rothbury and Coquetdale businesses in the district, county and wider community.

1. CONSTITUTION

1.1. The club shall be known as "THE ROTHBURY & COQUETDALE BUSINESS CLUB", with meetings being held monthly.

1.2. The Membership shall consist of those "Having a business interest in the Area and who have paid the current membership".

1.3. Each business is deemed to be a member and will hold a single vote, irrespective of the size of the business or the number of representatives attending meetings.

1.4. Associate (non voting) membership is open to those people who are able to contribute to the club aims through their knowledge and lor experience.

1.5. The club shall have the following officers

Chairman

Treasurer

Secretary

Membership Officer

Executive Committee

1.6. The above officers will be subject to re-election at the AGM.

1.7. Those elected to the above positions shall serve no more than 3 consecutive years.

1.8. Meetings require 25% of the full voting, paid up membership, to be in attendance to effect a quorum.

1.9. Where items of policy are to be decided, The Executive Committee shall make recommendations to the general membership for approval. The Executive Committee are not empowered to make final decisions unless given plenerary powers by the membership.

1.10. The Executive Committee are empowered to incur costs of no more than £25, without approval by the general membership.

1.11. An annual membership fee shall be levied. The membership fee will be reviewed annually.

1.12. In the event of the "The Club" ceasing to operate then any funds held in the club's bank account will be distributed to local charity organisations by agreement of the current membership.

1.13. Meetings will be held monthly, except for August to allow for holidays and December to allow for extra business activity and at a time and venue to be agreed at the appropriate monthly meetings..
